A knife-wielding man randomly attacked passersby in central Munich on Saturday, lightly injuring eight people, police said as they excluded terrorism as a motive after detaining the suspected perpetrator. The 33-year-old suspect already has a police record for theft and violence and appears to suffer from “psychiatric problems”, Munich police chief Hubertus Andrae told a news conference.
